Northumberland Street North East Lane
A new mews apartment and garage for the owner of the accompanying town house.
The project takes its cue from the surrounding listed stone garden walls that form a datum from which to extend, add and project upwards. Planning constraints dictated limited opportunity for windows and strategically placed roof lights compensate this. The west gable wall expresses its separation from the existing boundaries through a shift away from stone to timber cladding and a top-lit entrance lobby occupies the slot between this and the existing west wall.
